Capital Campaign Information
Since its inception in 1981, Central Wyoming Hospice Program has continued to grow and change in order to better meet the needs of the community. What began as an in-home hospice service run by volunteers has evolved into the program we have today, which includes a 10-bed inpatient facility and an ever growing outpatient service.
In 2005, it became apparent that, once again, our program needed to expand to accommodate the growing and changing population of Central Wyoming. The 10 beds in the Charles M. & Cara Lou Chapman Hospice Home could no longer fully meet the need for inpatient hospice care in the community.
With this in mind, CWHP launched a capital campaign in 2006 to fund the expansion of our facility. The expansion is three tiered and includes:
- A new 10-bed inpatient facility on our current campus. This new home will be built in the same fashion as our existing facility, maintaining a warm, home-like atmosphere for patients and their families.
- Expansion and remodel of our outpatient service center.
- Remodel of our existing hospice home. In addition to adding private showers in each of the patient rooms, we will also be converting two semi-private rooms into private rooms.
In order to raise the necessary funds for this expansion, we are turning to members of our community for help. Our dream, as always, is ambitious, but our commitment to serving the community is strong.
