Our Spring 2020 Newsletter

Last year, CWHP shared Our Caring Promise, our assurance to provide hospice to anyone in our community who needs it. Although we could never have anticipated these current challenges, we made this commitment knowing we had to hold true in rough times, as well as the good. Our promise is that we are here when you need us. During this pandemic, hospice patients are the most vulnerable to this disease. To ensure the health of patients, families, and staff, we implemented new safety procedures in patients’ homes and the Kloefkorn Home. Additionally, we initiated Telehospice to connect with our patients when face to face visits are not possible. Even though we can’t bill through Medicare, we launched it anyway--because it is the right thing to do. We have found families coping with serious and terminal illness need more care and support than before. Recognizing that grief care is vital to the children in our community, we are restructuring Kids Grief Camp to assure the safety of everyone involved. Moreover, our chaplain and grief care services have offered to help anyone struggling to make sense of what is happening in our world. And, thanks to you, we continue to provide compassionate end-of-life care without regard to our families’ ability to pay.Without you, we could not provide these services. We value your commitment to us, and please know, that every dollar that you donate is appreciated. Our Hospice Team considers you family . . . so from our family to yours, thank you for sharing in Our Caring Promise
