More Care for Your Community: Chapman Hospice Home to Re-Open
For the veteran, for the homeless, for your grandmother or your father, for those patients whose symptoms can no longer be managed at home…our specialized inpatient care is invaluable for those who need it, and that need is growing.
Often over the past year our Kloefkorn Hospice Home has been full, and to make more room available is an essential element of our pledge to your friends and neighbors.
“A huge part of ‘Our Caring Promise’ was the recognition this past year that we have been limited in the ability to say ‘yes’ to our community,” said Central Wyoming Hospice Executive Director Kilty Brown. “So, as part of this campaign we’re very excited and proud to announce that we will be reopening both homes. That way we can make sure there is a bed available when we need it.”
Renovations are currently underway to re-open our Charles M. and Cara Lou Chapman Hospice Home, led by Tandem-Design Build and made possible in part by generous grants from the Daniels Fund and the Wyoming Community Foundation.
Lauren Griffith, of Tandem-Design Build, said she is especially invested in the Chapman Home remodel because she experienced it on a very personal level. “My father spent his final days here in January of 2008. The facility and care he was given was second to none and I have the utmost respect for the staff, everyone involved in what Hospice stands for and this amazing campus,” said Griffith. “I am so proud to be involved in updating this for the guests and their families to experience. My goal is that it is tranquil, inviting and functions well into the future. We have carefully selected colors, furnishings, lighting, and art that conveys a sense of tranquility and is inviting, timeless and functional.”
The re-opening of the Chapman Hospice Home is anticipated for the end of the year 2020.
“We want to thank our community for their support, we want to thank you guys for making it possible,” said Brown, “and we can’t wait to partner with you to provide the best care we can to our veterans, to our elderly, to your friends and family and neighbors here in Wyoming.”
